One of the key jobs of a teacher is, currently, thought to be aiming to increase digital competence of students so that they are competent to use ICT in the modern community. As an educational tool, blogs are one of the user-friendly technology tools that may be incorporated in a multi-faceted manner to include all learners in the learning process. There are several applications for blogging in education and learning. To contribute information and thoughts, one can leverage an existing blog. Benefits of adopting blogging as a teaching tool include classroom management, collaboration, debates, and having comprehensive archived student portfolios are among some benefits of using blogging as a teaching tool.

What is blog?

A blog (a shortened version of “weblog”) is an online journal or informational website displaying information in reverse chronological order, with the latest posts appearing first, at the top. It is a platform where a writer or a group of writers share their views on an individual subject.

What is the purpose of a blog?

Blogs allow you to create information that is unique to you and your practice. While some people are hesitant to promote themselves, your blog allows you to communicate with your readers while advertising who you are and what you do.

The use of blogs in teaching learning process

Blogs are an excellent way for you, your class, or your students to begin reading, analyzing, and commenting on course-related writing tasks, and because they can be set up to allow different audiences, such as just the individual, the class or module group, or public access, they provide a variety of critical feedback opportunities.

Blogs are also commonly utilized as venues for reflective learning, where students and/or faculty may collect thoughts, facts, and even organize that knowledge into digital portfolios. They can also be useful as knowledge management tools for postgraduate researchers, allowing them to document and archive research progress while also establishing professional credibility and reputation.

Blogs are a useful and efficient way for students to acquire material as required and to integrate explicit knowledge from textbooks with tacit knowledge gathered when students see how others may and are using the knowledge being shared. Blogs also link students to online learning communities where they may access and review knowledge while also developing new learning paradigms for themselves. Finally, properly demonstrating how to utilize blogs as a teaching and learning tool is a valuable ability for our kids to have as they begin on their life-long learning path.

Conclusion

Blogs are a quick and easy method for you and your students to get information into the web. Class blogs allow students to debate subjects outside of the classroom in a more discursive and intelligent manner, and if open, can broaden the conversation to worldwide audiences with comparable interests. A class blog is a personal learning place where you may post notes, references, links, thoughts, or a CV, offering vital skills in information management. However, the use of blogs as a learning tool appears to be low-cost and high-return.
